Question What is the significance of marking my products with their patent numbers?

Question Patent marking serves two basic purposes. The first and obvious one is that it serves as a warning to potential copyists that they copy at their peril. The second purpose is to benefit a patent holder in litigation. If your products are marked, your recovery of damages will date from the time infringement began, rather than the date of notice to the infringer.
